Dunes from the air.

We found this unique looking sand dune last Friday not far from the Pinnacles and just on sunset – it would have to be one of the best dunes I’ve seen in a long while. This image is quite deceptive, this dune is actually 10km long and was shot from about 2,000ft.

Perth Panorama

If anyone was out last night in Perth they would have seen one of the most colourful sunsets in a long time, we were up in the Lesmurdie hills doing a bit of video work and looking at the clouds but they just didn’t look that promising but within 5 min. the sky really lit up for 30min or more so here’s a panorama I managed to get about 20min after sunset. Another 3 image horizontal stitch with the 24mm tilt/shift lens.(6sec. exposure).

Hillary’s Boat Harbour

I took this image of Hillary’s Boat Harbour back in March but have only just added it to the website this week - there was some great cloud around that week and I’d been to Hillary’s 3 night’s in a row but the sunset never really happened so I made one more trip and ended up getting one of the most intense sunset’s I’d seen.

What’s funny though is I set up in a secluded spot with no one around and then two children came along and sat right in front of me, they sat there for 15 min. so I packed up and went back to my car. From my car I could see them leave straight away so I go back and set up again, you guessed it, they come back and sit right in front again. I didn’t move but they eventually left about 5 min. before this shot – which was a 5 image stitch.

City Beach Sunset.

Was another great sunset in Perth last night so headed down to City Beach for the first time. I’m not a big fan of these groyne’s that are around Perth so have alway’s avoided them. However somebody asked me for a photo of City Beach last week so thought I’d add one to the portfolio. I have one more from last night that was taken when the sun was still on the horizon, but it’s not enjoying being stitched so will put it up later this week.

Windy Harbour

This is one of my favourite place’s to visit, relatively close to Perth, hardly any people and some majestic cliff face’s. Windy Harbour, which is about 150km. east of Augusta also has it’s “unique” townsite where you own the house but not the land – well worth visiting.

Lake Clifton Thrombolites

This photo of the Lake Clifton Thrombolites was only taken by a little bit of good fortune.As we were heading back from down south we noticed some pretty good cloud’s forming so timed it that we would be nearby at sunset. As it turned out we arrived just on sunset with no-one else around and ended up with some great image’s from here.
