Only managed to get a handful of still’s from the weekend on the way over and even less on the way back as the seabreeze was in and it was near on impossible to stand up let alone take any photos – the bottom photo was on the way back, this is Chris Box testing out his new boat!

Run to Rottnest

I recieved a call from Paul of www.pokerrunsaustralia.com.au at about 7am yesterday morning saying how perfect it was on the ocean and wanting to know if I wanted to spend the day at Rottnest, and I had 1 hour to get to fishing boat harbour in Fremantle! Shot mostly video using the new Canon 7D and will have some stills up tomorrow but really wanted to try out the 7D first, shooting from the back of a boat was near on impossible but at least managed to get a few second’s of footage. Well, here’s the video and the rest of the story tomorrow with the stills.

Mandurah Boat Show Run.

Yesterday was the Mandurah Boat Show Run organised by www.pokerrunsaustralia.com.au . It didn’t look too promising early in the morning but once again the sun came out so everyone departed from Fremantle Boat Harbour for the run down to Mandurah at about 11am. It was a little rough in part’s but at least we got some good shot’s of the boat’s out of the water in those section’s.

Once we arrived in Mandurah it was off to the Catch 22 restaurant for lunch and drink’s followed by a walk around the Mandurah Boat Show. Once again it was another great event run by PRA but I had to get back to Perth so I left about 5pm where as everyone else stayed the night in Mandurah and were due to travel back on Sunday.

Poker Runs Australia, Land & Sea Event

Yesterday was the Land & Sea Poker Run held by www.pokerrunsaustralia.com.au starting from Fremantle Harbour then heading up the river to the city stopping off at various location’s for card handovers then back to Point Walter for lunch. This event for both hot rods and power boats wasn’t looking too good in the morning with light shower’s falling but just as we were about leave the cloud’s parted, sun came out and it stayed that way till we got back to Fremantle.

Big Al, from Big Al’s Poker Run came down to check thing’s out and it all look’s promising for next year’s event. Ended up being a great day with Pizza delivered for lunch and the Red Bull girls dropping by to say hello, and dropping off the drink’s!
